Boil Water Advisory for WELLMAN lifted 2/17/2012:

Residents in the city of Wellman can use tap water for all purposes. The boil water advisory is now lifted. The Wellman water supply has been confirmed safe for consumption.

The City of Wellman received the 2nd water test result today confirming that the water does not contain bacteria. On February 14th, a boil water advisory was issued to customers in the City of Wellman because of a loss of pressure in the municipal water system.   The boil water advisory was a precautionary step to protect the public’s health.  Anytime there is a water main break and a loss of pressure it is important to take these precautions.  The City of Wellman appreciates its customers’ patience.

The City of Wellman and the Washington County Board of Health will work with residents to answer questions. Residents with questions may call:

• City of Wellman at  319-646-2154
• Public Health at 319-653-7758
• Restaurants in the affected area should contact Environmental Health at 319-653-7782

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses).
