Tuberculosis is a disease caused by bacteria (germs) that are spread from person to person through the air.

  
 

 

 

A TB skin test is the most common type of TB testing.  It is done by injecting a small amount of fluid under the skin on your arm.  The site needs to be checked within 48-72 hours after the injection to determine if the test result is positive or negative.
