🦸‍♀️ LEAD PREVENTION WEEK: Be a Hero for Your Child!🩸🏠

Lead doesn’t always show itself—but it can still harm your child! 🦹‍♂️ There is no safe level of lead in children’s blood, and exposure can affect a child’s learning, development, and overall health.

🩸 Know the Facts:
✔️ A blood lead test is the best way to determine if your child has been exposed to lead.
✔️ Children ages 1–5 are especially vulnerable to lead exposure.
✔️ Homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint.
✔️ Lead exposure can occur without obvious signs or symptoms.

🦸 Be Your Child’s Superhero!
If your child is between 1 and 5 years old, especially if they live in a home built before 1978, talk with your child’s healthcare provider or contact Washington County Public Health at 319-653-7758 about blood lead testing.

🏡 Taking steps to identify and prevent lead exposure helps protect your child’s health today and in the future.

💪 Knowledge is power. Prevention is protection!
